Studio 14 Denia - Alterations and Dressmaking

In our workshop at Studio 14 Denia, we undertake most types of alterations to garments and soft furnishing.  The most popular task, is the shortening of Men’s trousers.  (Where are all the 7ft. tall Spaniards that these trousers were originally made for?)  Invariably the trousers sold in Spanish shops are far too long even for the tallest of our local men.  Another popular alteration, is the taking in or letting out of trousers at the waist.  Ladies alterations are similar and also include taking in seams on dresses and shortening dresses or skirts according the lengths dictated by the latest fashion trends.  The smallest job was making new buttonholes and sewing on buttons, so you can see that no task is too small for us.

We can also shorten curtains or re-make them in different sizes to fit new windows.  Alter sheets, blankets or duvets to fit a different bed size.

With our numerous types of Baby Lock semi-industrial machines, we can achieve alterations that are similar to the original stitch-work.

Our Custom Sewing work can include most types of dresses, blouses and tops, men’s shirts, etc. right through to Designer outfits for special occasions.

This unlined dress was adapted from V8107, a semi-fitted sheaf with a box-pleated section at the hem.  The neck was altered into a slightly squared shape. It was made in Mousseline.
